Are you a teen with a story to tell about your journey with a chronic illness? Teen Health Narratives invites you to share your unique experience in our Essay Writing Competition. This is your chance to inspire others and contribute to a supportive community through the power of storytelling!
The annual Teen Health Narratives Essay Writing Competition aims to create a platform where teens can express their personal experiences with chronic illnesses. By sharing these stories, we aspire to reduce stigma, build empathy, and foster a sense of belonging among teens facing similar challenges. We believe that storytelling is a powerful tool that can connect individuals, spark important conversations, and pave the way for greater understanding and support.
Details:
Theme: Relationships with anyone or anything, and how your personal experiences with chronic illness, conditions, or injuries affected them/it.
Eligibility: Open to teens aged 13-19 from anywhere in the world!
Prize: $1,000 for the winning essay!
Deadline: August 1, 2026 at 11:59 EST
Submission Guidelines:
Essays should be between 800 and 1,600 words.
Your essay will be published in our Story Collection, but you may choose to remain anonymous.
